Re: No Levelled GCode file is created
Hi James, I have tried the last version of AL and here are some observations: 1. The probe file generated by Mach3 does not seem to handle the backlash properly. It records the distance that Mach has to move instead of the compensated distance. Example: I have a backlash compensation of 0.003 on X a...

Re: No Levelled GCode file is created
Hi James,
I just want to tell that I did not fade away. I just did not get around to test the new version yet.
Get back to you soon.

Re: No Levelled GCode file is created
Hi James,
You may have answered this previously but it is not clear to me why you couldn't simply assume that the machine positioned the tool close enough and use the x and y coordinates called for in the PFG GCode file? The RPF could be limited to log the Z values of each probe measurement.

Re: No Levelled GCode file is created
Yes, you are right, I was confused. I have no encoder so Mach3 has to presume the actual position is where the DROs point. After observation, the DROs indicate the PFG GCode coordinate values rounded to 4 decimal places. The after executing a G31, the variables 2000,2002 and 2002 contain the x,y and...

Re: No Levelled GCode file is created
Looking forward for it. Thank you James.
I'm astonished that my machine can stop within 30 micro-inch from the gcode command. If I'm not mistaken this is roughly 1 micrometer.
I wish others would chime in and tell us what resolution they can get on their machine.

Re: No Levelled GCode file is created
Hi James, Not to be picky but not quite exact either; the fifth decimal is slightly different for a few of your x and y probe values. Nonetheless, that demonstrates that your machine is capable of positioning the tool within 10 micro inches of the gcode command. That is some high resolution and repe...

Re: No Levelled GCode file is created
This may explain the discrepancy between the set value for the probe position (PFG) and the actual probe position in the log file (RPF).

Re: No Levelled GCode file is created
Hi James, I never noticed the difference as my DRO indicate 4 decimals only which is plenty for my machine. The log file (RPF) gathers coordinates positions with 5 decimal numbers. Could it be possible to round these coordinates with 4 decimals instead of 5? This may solve the problem. Is this somet...

Sorry, I think the file you wanted is this one ALProbe4tour0625.tap (AutoLeveller, Version: 0.8.3, http://autoleveller.co.uk) (Copyright 2013-2014 James Hawthorne PhD) (Original GCode file: 4 tour 0625.txt) (Creation date: 17/07/2014 time: 18:40) (This program and any of its output is licensed under...

Re: No Levelled GCode file is created
Hi James, I have tried released 0.8.3 and the same thing happened, no Levelled GCode created in the directory of Original GCode File. The files are very short so I made a copy/paste of them here: The original gcode file: ( 4 tour 0625 ) ( File created: Thursday, July 17, 2014 - 04:24 PM) ( for Mach2...
