Re: Hole detection and avoid them she probing
I too use tooling posts. I use only two posts outside the work area but inside the machine envelope. The posts are located along X = midle value of the axis range. I position my design in the centre of the working range and then extract the milling info so that the machine bed and tooling posts matc...

Re: 0.8.3 stuck in infinite loop
Yes MACH ought to report this.
I use LinuxCNC and it does report issues of this kind if outside specified tollerance.
EDIT: can You post the DXF file?

Re: 0.8.3 stuck in infinite loop
DXF files are notorious for producing lines whihc ought to joined but in reality are disjointed.
I do not know if Your original DXF data suffers from this afliction. One of the problems is that arcs and circles end up with mismatched attributes ( radius versus end points ).

The author of the optimiser was known to show up on CNC Zone site in the PCB milling area.
Try him there.

Re: Puzzled
This is the story of the proverbial cat. Do I open the box ( run the cutter over the laminate ) to check if the cat is alive ( to make sure the laminate is level ) or do I take it in blind faith the cat is alive ( kind of ).. What I want to say is leveler idea is fine only as a first degree approxim...

Re: error in mach3...
Had a look at Your file on LinuxCNC software.
Reported unkmown G code at line 22 or thereabouts.
Did not have enough time to look at the report thoroughly.
Will try to locate offending statement

Re: Extra Circles
You are seeing numerical noise caused by fragments of track data which are of zero length.
As sucjh they can be interpreted as arcs of very tiny radius.
I have had some bad experiences with these events with professional CAM software.
