Re: JDK8 install on Debian Linux
Thank you for the response. I did get it working now. I currently have 5 versions of java installed java 8-openjdk Java-11-openjdk java 17-openjdk java -17-oracle and finally java jre1.8.0.333 which works and allows me to run the AE versions just fine. Just now I changed to Java-17-oracle to attempt...

Re: JDK8 install on Debian Linux
Hello, thank you for your post back in 2014. Then Oracle's java 8 was the new version. now it seems java 14 is the new version- will Autoleveller AE work with java 14? OR, does the java 8 need to be found and installed?
Thank you for any response.

Re: Hello
Art, good to hear Paul's spindle is working good. I "think" I could make Paul's spindle work, but having a hard time getting timely response from him. We exchanged a couple of emails, then a few days pause - he said my email had gotten caught in his spam filter. If I could get a couple of questions ...

Re: Leveller first try
James, I'm using LinuxCNC. To be honest, I don't remember if I re-zeroed Z or not. I'll play with this some more and see if I can come up with a consistent method of creating the issue. Just in case I do jam down and sideways, I'll use an old tool bit and my old spindle motor that has excessive TIR ...

Re: Leveller first try
I saw the thread on yahoo.groups, but looked here to see if it was covered also. I've had a similar issue with my setup - all versions of program. If a Gcode file is loaded (from most any source) and started, but for what ever reason the run is interrupted - then just hit the start again, very often...

Re: Hello
Well, since ya'll have told a bit - I'm located just East of Mobile, AL (USA). I started with a Zen 6X6 CNC, sold it and got a Chinese 3040 CNC - been pretty good. The spindle motor got too much TIR - about .004" TIR after a bit of use. Perhaps jamming to one side and down into work at rapid travel ...

Re: Additional utility
James, "IF" it can be done, a good optimization program would be great. I've seen how often the regular Gcode is not anywhere near optimized. I'm just so impressed with your auto-leveling program I'm hesitate to ask for more:)

Re: Trial feature test
Just a short test of attaching a photo. Yep, it seems to work - I took an image, then in photo editing I sized as 640X480 pixels and it seems to work good.

Your guide to setting up the probe is really good - I'm sure it will be a LOT of help to lots of folks.
