Speed is about 25k rpm. It would go more if I set the power supply the extra half a volt or so that's left on the adjuster but then I start getting more harmonics than what I already do.

I did just bump the voltage to the maximum and got 27,000 RPM out of the spindle. I don't think the o-ring belt would have lasted long at that though, looked like it was about to fly off!

You know what, this spindle is quite possibly the simplest spindle ever.
It's it literally an 8mm diameter ER11 extension, 2x 608 bearings, 22mm aluminium tube all pressed together and a pulley I turned myself. at 25K RPM it barely gets warm to the touch when milling, the motor has a built in fan to keep itself cool and runs off a 12V supply. Never run it above 33K RPM because that's the bearings maximum speed and yeah, it does get hot then. I've had a past version up to 55k RPM with a brushless motor which I've still got actually but by christ it's noisy and get's very hot.
The machine itself came with a crappy damaged spindle that would top out at 8k on 48V and was entirely worthless. I pinched the spindle off my college project, make a couple of reducers for the spindle clamps, a mount for the motor and an O-ring for a pulley.
