Hi
I was wondering if this could be used for plasma cnc machine? I have a so called floating head to sense the surface of a workpice, the thing is that if my workpiece is not level I obviously can not keep constant the distance between the nozzle of the plasma cutter and the metal plate I am cutting. usually the workpiece is tilted in one direction so I dont need a really high resolution of Z leveling, more or less 4 points, each in each corner of the work area will be enough. in a code generated for plasma cutters the Z working height (when cutting) is 1,5mm (in my case at least) so that is probably the only difference between plasma and milling, that the working z height is above the surface instead of a little below it.

I can see your problem and the only way I know is to test it and see if it works. In "theory" I don't see why it wouldn't but you might want to a few more points than just the four corners. but that is just my opinion.
Go for it and and give it a try and see what happens. I don't believe it will hurt to try.:})
